Top 11 Essential Oils for Glowing, Happy Skin Care

After all the research I’ve done, I’ve found 11 essential oils that top the charts for skin care! [And they’re all gentle enough in the right concentrations, to be used in eye and face cream, toner and cleanser.] They help with:

  • toning and elasticity
  • reducing blemishes and controlling oiliness
  • reducing wrinkles
  • fading blemish scars and age spots
  • soothing irritated and dry skin
  • regenerating skin at the cellular level and
  • possessing antiseptic properties to stop breakouts

The best eleven & their benefits

  1. Lavender is commonly known for its calming effects. Many people use a few drops in a diffuser to calm the senses and sleep at night. It’s also effective as an anti-bacterial agent, helps manage natural oil secretions on the skin and fades sun spots and scarring. It also works as an anti-aging oil and helps to regenerate skin cells.  Lavender is a great oil for all skin types.
  2. Tea Tree Oil, or Melaluca is a great antiseptic. It stops bacteria from clogging pores and reduces blemishes. It is also known for soothing irritated skin with rashes, rosacea, and itchy dryness. It also helps as a natural preservative in creams.
  3. Frankincense is a traditional Eastern skin care ingredient known for its healing properties.  It is Cytophylactic, which means it is excellent at cell regeneration, fighting the aging process by tightening the skin, reducing wrinkles and minimizing sun spots.
  4. Neroli oil helps to increase skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of stretch marks, fade away acne scars and heal broken capillaries. Neroli oil has anti-bacterial properties. It also promotes new cell growth and helps maintain skins moisture balance. Makes skin smooth and glowing.
  5. Palmarosa is fabulous at moisturizing and hydrating skin. It’s an awesome anti-wrinkle ingredient as it helps regenerate skin at the cellular level. A great oil in face cream.
  6. Helichrysum oil has an impressive, centuries-old list of medicinal and healing properties. It is the most expensive essential oil, at well over $100 per half ounce!  It is Cytophylactic as it has the amazing ability to stimulate the production of cells in the body. New skin cells = more youthful skin. It is deeply moisturizing and soothes skin that suffers from allergic reactions, psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and acne.  It is the Holy Grail of natural beauty anti-aging ingredients.
  7. Rosemary has wonderful antiseptic qualities so it is great at reducing blemishes. It also controls sebum production in skin layers and helps with new cell generation. Rosemary oil reduces skin irritations and has some natural preservation qualities in creams and lotions.
  8. Geranium oil is a great astringent and is excellent at toning up skin and reducing wrinkles. Not only that, it also encourages cell regeneration and reduces the appearance of acne and post-breakout acne scars. It smells great too!
  9. Ylang Ylang oil has the ability to reduce skin irritations, it’s wonderfully moisturizing and helps keep skin moisture balance in check. It helps with cell regeneration and reduces wrinkles. Ylang ylang has a wonderful flowery smell which helps to balance some of the stronger- toned essential oils like tea tree, rosemary and frankincense when combined in creams.
  10. Rose oil is the boss of all skin soothing beauty ingredients. Many ancient civilizations used it as perfume and in their baths. It is moisturizing, reduces skin irritations, and helps reduce wrinkles. A great anti-aging skin care ingredient and has antiseptic qualities.
  11. Carrot Seed oil is packed full of antioxidants. It is particularly beneficial in cell regeneration, fading scars and has antiseptic properties. As an antioxidant, it protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals, which in turn helps to keep wrinkles at bay.

This is a good list Dorothy. I didn’t know you had such a fantastic business! I love Ylang Ylang and geranium and frankincense especially. I love that you are making natural products that nourish the body without all the chemicals that are so harmful. My best to you! I tried to shop on your site but it was down when I clicked on it. : ( I would love to try some of the things you are making! God Bless~Jamie
